Manufacturer: Cipla, India
Pharmaceutical name: Danazol
Pack: 10 pills (200 mg)
Danogen (Danazol) is utilized in women for the treatment of pelvic pain and infertility related to a specific uterine disorder (endometriosis) as well as for managing breast pain, tenderness, and nodules associated with a particular breast condition (fibrocystic breast disease). It is also employed in both men and women to prevent swelling in the abdomen, arms, legs, face, and airway caused by a genetic condition (hereditary angioedema).
Danogen (Danazol) is an androgen that resembles testosterone. When treating endometriosis and fibrocystic breast disease, it functions by reducing the production of hormones from the ovaries, hormones that typically exacerbate these conditions. In the case of angioedema, danazol assists in increasing levels of a certain protein in the immune system.
Danogen (Danazol) has infrequently been associated with very serious (potentially life-threatening) blood clots (such as strokes), liver issues, and increased pressure in the brain (benign intracranial hypertension). Seek immediate medical help if you experience any symptoms of these side effects, including weakness on one side of the body, slurred speech, changes in vision, severe stomach or abdominal pain, dark urine, ongoing nausea or vomiting, yellowing of the eyes or skin, mental or mood alterations (like confusion), or severe and persistent headaches.
Take this medication by mouth, typically twice a day or as prescribed by your physician. You can take it with or without food; however, it's important to choose one method and maintain consistency with each dose. The dosage depends on your medical condition and your response to treatment. Use this medication regularly to maximize its benefits. To aid in remembering, take it at the same times each day. Inform your doctor if your condition does not improve or worsens.
